ODIS - DOSimetric detector iOt system

About the project

The ODIS project aims to develop a new system for dosimetric measurements of ionizing radiation using new measurement technology and the Internet of Things (IoT). Mandatory dosimetric monitoring with personal dosimeters is conducted on individuals professionally exposed to ionizing radiation, while environmental, industrial, and medical facility monitoring is performed using continuous and/or periodic monitoring with ambient dosimeters. Currently available electronic dosimeters have significant shortcomings in dominant exposure areas (pulsed fields and low energies), which is why passive personal dosimeters are still in use. Based on previous research of our team, the ODIS project will enable more accurate measurements, positively impacting the safety and health of individuals. Additionally, the IoT functionality will provide the much-needed digitization of this element of the healthcare system, enhancing readiness for the detection and prevention of radiological emergencies.
